Save the Historic Stow Lake Boat House!

Travel back in time with these images, generously donated to us by Dennis O'Rorke and other members of the San Francisco Bay Area Post Card Club.  Many thanks to SFBAPCC member & webmaster extraordinaire, Jack Daley, who patiently assisted us with this website!

This view is an early turn of the century studio card, not a postcard, but so wonderful we can't help but share it!

Can you find the boat house in this post card?

Haven't you always wondered what was on top of Strawberry Hill? Strawberry Hill is in the middle of Stow Lake. Some of the ramparts of what was called the Sweeney Observatory (destroyed in the Great 1906 Earthquake) are still up there.

Can you identify the brick building in the rear of this view on the right?  It's the "Affiliated College & University Hospital", the beginning of today's UCSF Medical Center.
